Friedrich (or Frederick, to those unaccustomed to the Ander tongue) was born in the ancient mining colony-turned-village of Göttetten in late 9:18 Dragon. The only praise that can be given for Göttetten is that it hasn't caught fire (yet), and that its stonemasons mined and laid the foundations of Weisshaupt Fortress during the First Blight.
The Göttetten Mines, once famed for its quality aurum and statuary grade marble, had most of its major veins played out decades before Friedrich's birth; the village now makes a respectable living from its native Antesper Nettle, which yields an indigo dye for which there is no comparison.
Friedrich, promised to the Templar Order at the age of seven (once his mother remarried a man who was less than thrilled at the prospect of fatherhood for a child not his own), left Göttetten for the Templar outpost at Hossberg, his arms still stained blue to the elbows. After years of training and undergoing his Vigil, he was dispatched to the Eastern Lands over the Volca Sea to help oversee the Tien Bui Circle in the portside city of Jiukiang-Xi.
